Journeys

Day 1—Martin went to see the students of year 7 to check if there are any problems in order to solve them out and what they think we need to do in order to improve the school. They told him that the main problem was that the boys were being bullied at break times by bigger students and they also said that they wanted to have longer breaks.

Day 2—Our leader talked with the people of year 8 and they argue that what we need to do in order to improve our school was to stop bullying, make funnier activities to improve unity between northlands students and also the fact that breaks are short and that they should be longer.

Day 3—Martin met with year 9 and year 10 to see what they thought of the school and what things are the most important things that the school needs. They told him that it would be great to have an extra week of holidays at the beginning of the year, to have vest for gym classes and that classes should be more entertaining.

Day 4—the last day of the journey our leader, Martin Kaucher, went to see the older students of Northlands secondary school, year 11 and year 12, and they reclaim for a special room for them where they can stay at breaks, decorated as they want, etc and that they wanted to have more study leaves for the IB.

Day 5-- Martin put together all the information that he recauded in order to see what were the main things that came out and what were the problems that each grade had in order to go and present all to Pablo to see what are the possible solutions to all the require things during the journey.

During the journey, a part from visiting each class of students Martin met with the student council of each class to talk in private in respect about what they have argue previously when they were asked. Basically what he communicate in this private talks to each representative was that he listened to all the proposes and that he already had programmed a meeting with the headmaster of the school in order to discuss all the things that the proposed him during the journey.

As a conclusion of the journey, I would like to say that it was very positive for our campaign because Martin could explore in detail what were the needs of each grade and what they thought that it was necessary for improving the school. There are many important issues that are going out in our school that we should improve rapidly, like for example the bullying of Y12 students towards the students of Y7.

The members of Students Party, we want a school where students can experience the best moments of their life’s together with their friends, have fun, where classes are entertaining and the most important we want unity between al the secondary students, I promised that we are going to work very hard on this because it is important for our school to grow in a positive way.
